Demon Slayer-Inspired Large Stoneware Sushi Platter
By Kateryna Shamshuryna-Acland
Designed to make the food presentation part of the artwork, this large handmade stoneware platter is inspired by Demon Slayer, featuring character illustrations of Tengen Uzui and Gyomei Himejima at opposite ends of the piece. The natural stoneware background has been finished with energetic splashes of red, black and white, giving the platter a contemporary, almost street-art feel. The monochrome character details sit within the decoration rather than dominating it, making the piece striking whether it is filled with sushi or displayed on its own. Its long, gently rounded shape makes it ideal for sushi, sashimi, appetisers, sharing food or desserts, while the raised rim helps keep everything neatly contained. Handmade from stoneware clay, individually decorated, glazed and kiln-fired at KeKo Club Pottery Studio. No two handmade platters will ever be exactly the same. Limited availability: As each piece is handmade, stock is limited. This design can also be made to order, with the option to customise colours, details or design.
